An airport, large shopping malls and theaters, fine dining, sports, night life, etc… Hiking: Oakhurst is one of the gateways to the Sierra’s, and the southern entrance to the Mother Lode. There are numerous hiking trails for both the beginner and the experienced hikers including the Scenic By-way which is the overlook to the John Muir Wilderness. Golf: There are 4 Local courses - Sierra Meadows Ranch Course, Sierra Meadows Country Club, River Creek Golf Course, and Sierra Meadows at River Creek. There is also a par 3’s and 4’s course at Yosemite Lakes. Winter Sports: Mammoth Mountain Ski area and Snow Mobiling, and Badger Pass. Bowling: Sierra Lanes bowling center. Shooting: There are several gun ranges nearby for both target shooting and skeet shooting. Theater: The Met Cinema offers the latest movie releases on the big screen, while the Golden Chain Theater provides live melodramatic performances. Casinos: There are several nearby casinos - Chukchansi Gold Resort, Table Mountain Casino, and Mono Wind Casino to name a few. Dining: 5 star dining at Erna's Elderberry House, Tenya Lodge (Marriot), all the standard fast foods like Mc Donalds, Taco Bell, and Pizza, plus plenty of local favorites! Local Shopping: Oakhurst is a large enough town to offer all the well-known supermarkets, fast foods, banks, and restaurant chains, as well as a number of local favorites. |
